A Different Way to Experience Italy

You have your own private apartment, a small group of women around you, and light support throughout your stay so you don’t need to worry about logistics or planning.

It’s not a retreat or a structured program. There is no fixed schedule and no pressure to participate in anything.

Instead, your days unfold naturally — with space to slow down, enjoy your surroundings, and connect with others when you feel like it.

Organized Airport Transfer from and to Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome
Indulge in an aperitivo and welcome dinner within the ambiance of the covered dining area.
Transportation to the local store and markets to get groceries.
Community gatherings where authentic connections are made.
Shared Dining: Delicious, prepared meals enjoyed together at the villa or splurging in a local restaurant.
Activities designed to explore and embrace regional culture and lifestyle.
Seasonal activities such as truffle hunting, wine harvest, olive picking, or wine tastings are included when possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Meals Included?

Meals are organized once a day—this main meal is either prepared by me or we go out for lunch or dinner, depending on the day’s plans. The other meals—like breakfast or small snacks—are up to you. When you arrive, we’ll visit a market so everyone can pick up their own groceries. I also provide a basic welcome basket so you always have some essentials in your apartment, but I know everyone likes to have their own favorites on hand as well.

Is there a fixed itinerary?

Do we have the opportunity of going out as a group every day?

We don’t go on a sightseeing trip every day. We may just spend a day at the property, have a BBQ and enjoy the time together at the pool. Or we go to the market and afterwards have lunch together at the property. Or head to Todi for shopping and dinner afterwards, This is a slow travel idea, not a sightseeing trip,

However, these are examples of the activities & excursions: a. A visit to a local market with an optional café stop b. A guided hike c. A visit to Deruta to experience traditional pottery making d. A wine tasting experience e. Day trip to another town f. Seasonal activities such as truffle hunting, wine harvesting, or olive picking g. A visit to a local festival or event with other international people living in Todi.

Which airport should I fly into?

Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is the recommended airport, as group pickup and drop-off are included. Alternatively, you can fly into Perugia or Florence and take the train/bus to Todi, where I’ll be happy to pick you up. Transportation from Perugia or Florence airports is not included.

How is the airport transfer organized?

Transfers from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport to and from Todi are included in the Sulga travel bus, a comfortable and direct service with one stop outside Rome and then straight to Todi. You’ll need to plan your flight to catch the bus, which departs at 9 a.m., 2:30 p.m., or 5 p.m. For your return, the bus arrives at the airport at either 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., or 6 p.m. I’ll organize the transfer from and to the bus stop. If you’d prefer, I can arrange a private shuttle for 290 euros one way, which is for one or two people. Just let me know which option you prefer!

Can I come as a solo woman at other times?

Of course! You can come as a solo traveler at other times—Villa Solisera is a flexible community concept available nearly all year, except in the winter. There are always other solo guests, and many women stay for weeks, really immersing themselves in the local life. They meet expat women, and they often come back year after year. I’m here a lot, so I help connect people, but I don’t organize the events—I just offer suggestions, and you choose what you’d like to do. It’s a more flexible experience, and it really makes a difference—so you just need your own car, but that is easy!

Can I stay longer?

Can I bring a friend?

The solo women experience is designed for just four solo guests, since I provide transportation and we all fit in my car. If you’d like to bring a friend, they can come only if you come with your own car so they can follow me during outings. Alternatively, your friend could stay in one of the other apartments.

What are the cancellation terms?

We understand that unexpected events can affect your plans. If cancellations made more than 60 days before the experience start date, the deposit is non refundable, but can be transferred. See below.

• Cancellations made less than 60 days before the experience are non-refundable.

The deposit can be transferred to another experience within one year, if requested 90 days in advance. A €100 transfer fee applies.

You may also transfer your spot to a friend, if you notify us at least 90 days before the experience.

Deposits can only be transferred once.

Is this a fitness retreat?

No. This is a slow travel experience, not a fitness retreat. We do some walking while exploring villages and markets, and if the group is interested, we may include an optional hike. The pace is relaxed, and a reasonable level of mobility is all that’s needed.

VILLA SOLISERA

Indulge in the Italian way of life within a meticulously renovated apartment situated in my charming 300-year-old farmhouse, offering panoramic views of olive orchards and the captivating Umbrian hills. Nestled on a sprawling 16-acre estate, the property features a refreshing swimming pool, numerous secluded and landscaped patios, hiking trails, and awe-inspiring vistas in every direction.

The property comprises four private, fully furnished apartments, each equipped with kitchens, comfortable living and dining areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and private patios. As the owner, I reside in another apartment within the villa, ensuring a personal touch to the guest experience.

Adding to the charm, there’s an outside kitchen with a BBQ, nestled under a canopy of grapes. This picturesque spot provides a unique setting for guests to savor delicious outdoor meals, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Umbrian landscape.

Apartment #1

This spacious apartment welcomes you with a comfortable living space adorned with a table in front of a picture window, a cute kitchenette, and the most comfortable sleeper sofa. The cozy bedroom with a queen bed, provides a private retreat. The bathroom’s convenient access from the hallway ensures both convenience and privacy, offering a harmonious blend of comfort and functionality for all guests.

Apartment #2

Nestled within exposed stone walls, this charming one-bedroom apartment offers a queen-sized bed and a private bath, creating a cozy and intimate retreat with the sleeping area situated upstairs. The kitchen, complete with a dining table, opens up to an outside terrace shared with apartment #1. Ideal for a single occupant or those comfortable with sharing a bed, as there is no sleeper sofa.

Apartment #3

Inviting one-bedroom apartment with a queen bed, a spacious bathroom featuring a walk-in shower exclusively accessible from the bedroom. The ample living area includes a sleeper sofa, dining table, wood burning stove and a stylish kitchenette. Additionally, there is a private area in front of the apartment adorned with beautiful flower pots, a chair, and a bench, offering a charming outdoor retreat.

Apartment #4

Modern in its design, this apartment showcases large windows that frame beautiful views, along with a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living area complete with a sleeper sofa. The bathroom is accessible from the living room, and a separate bedroom provides the luxury of a king-sized bed for added comfort. Guests also have the opportunity to relish the outdoors on their private terrace with a small dining area.
